The skin around your eye area is the thinnest and utmost sensitive area on your face. We must be very selective on what we choose to use around our eyeballs. I don’t know about you but I really like the concept of vision (the ability to see). Therefore why not reach for something natural, something that we know exactly what is in it, something that we can find in our kitchen, something that cost less than $1 and is just as effective as the pricey department store creams. Perhaps a little DIY action?? Ahh…ha! Duh! Here is a list of some great natural remedies that cure-all those annoying “I’m getting old, have dark circle, are those crows feet, problems”.
Milk: Cold milk restricts blood vessels and reduces swelling. The fat in whole milk soothes dry, irritated skin.Place cotton balls in cold milk and place on eyelids.
Cold Spoons: Place 4 cold spoons in a bowl of ice water and allow to chill in the fridge. Once chilled take spoon and place over eyelid. The coolness reduces swelling and tired eyelids. After the first 2 spoons warm on skin, swap out with the other 2 chilled spoons.
Chamomile, Black, or Green Tea: All contain antioxidants. Chamomile tea is a natural anti-inflamatory. Both green tea and black tea contain tannins and caffeine. Tannins have an astringent effect on the skin which shrinks swollen tissue. Caffeine is stimulating-great for circulation which constricts blood vessels to reduce swelling. Select whichever tea you prefer, then boil tea bag. Allow tea to steep, and refrigerate tea bag in the boiled water. Once chilled place the cold tea bag over eyelid and allow to sit 10-15 min.
